Launching for Father's Day

One day you'll wish you could hear their voice again.

While They Can rings your mum or dad each week for a warm, unhurried chat — and turns what they tell us into a book your family keeps forever.

What your family receives.

How it works

It's just a phone call.

The call

Ruby rings each week

A warm, patient interviewer, at a time that suits them. Fifteen minutes or so. She never rushes and never interrupts — and she remembers everything from last time.

The stories

A life, one chapter at a time

Childhood. School days. First job. How they met your mum. The children arriving. The hard years, and what got them through.

The keeping

A book, and their voice

Their life story, written in their own words — and the original recordings, so you can always hear them tell it.

No app for them to install. No screens. Just the phone they already know how to use.

Every family says the same thing, eventually. I wish I'd asked.

The stories don't announce that they're leaving. One week the details are sharp — the names, the streets, the colour of the car. Then quietly, they're not.

This is the week to start. Not because anything is wrong. Because everything is still right.

Questions

My dad would never talk to a computer.

He won't be. He'll be having a phone call with someone who listens better than most people do — unhurried, curious, genuinely interested. Being properly listened to is rare at any age, and it feels wonderful.

Is the call recorded?

Yes, and every call opens by saying so clearly and warmly. Nothing goes into the finished book without your family's approval.

Can other people add their memories?

Yes. A brother, an old friend, a workmate — the people who knew them before you did. We can call them too, and weave their stories in.

What does it cost?

Founding families get the whole thing — the calls, the book, the recordings — at a launch price we'll only offer once. Leave your email and you'll hear it first.
